WELCOME TO LINCOLN

State-of-the-Art Facilities

Lincoln Elementary School is an innovative, state-of-the-art environment built during the 2015-2016 school year. Classrooms have been designed with flexible seating to accommodate group or individual learning. Collaboration spaces connect adjacent classrooms at all grade levels. The building is served by standalone art, music, multimedia lab/library and a gymnasium with a performance stage. A large, specially-designed lab will provide students with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) opportunities in years to come.

Technology

In keeping with the WCS mission statement, Lincoln’s students are equipped with in-class access to iPads, Internet-connected projection boards and engaging learning activities.

Enrichment Activities

In addition to dynamic classroom environments, students have access to enrichment activities that enhance their “knowledge and develop skills needed to pursue their dreams.” Unique to Lincoln are inter-grade-level opportunities for older students to mentor younger ones in what we call “family groups.”

Extracurricular

Additional extracurricular opportunities may involve: Robotics Clubs, Homework Club, Chess Club, Student Council, Debate Club, Yearbook Club and a range of sports activities.

Academic Excellence

A building is a structure. Lincoln has been blessed with a dedicated, caring faculty who immerse students in a climate of academic rigor while recognizing the individual needs of our diverse student body. Lincoln has consistently earned an “A” due to student academic performance and growth on state testing. Over the last decade Lincoln has been home to WCS’s Gifted and Talented program for grades three through six. In 2010, Lincoln Elementary was named a National Title I Distinguished School and in addition was recognized as an Indiana Blue Ribbon School.
